It
is a well known fact that ACS has be come a benchmark for quality in
the automotive aftermarket industry. Their Corvette add on and
replacement products are manufactured and tested for an absolutely
correct fit and finish. In our last issue we installed a sett of the
new ACS XL fender guards. The guards fit our C7 Z's wheel wells
perfectly. The units carbon flash metallic that was a perfect match for
the car.
We
saw the ACS fender extensions and at once realized that they would be
the perfect match to the guards and a nice finishing touch to our Z
cars rear profile.
The
extensions arrived in some of the best packaging we have ever seen. No
chance of damaged parts with this much packaging care. The extensions
were extremely easy to install. It only takes a few minutes to remove
three machine screws from the bottom rear fascia, line up and install
the extensions using the same hardware through the predrilled
holes.
ACS
recommends further securing the extenuations using rivets in addition
to the factory screws. We deviated from their recommendation in using
the supplied rivets and simply used four inch stainless self taping
machine screws to place the extensions in their final resting place. We
made this decision as we know that "rivets are forever". In the event
that we need to remove the extensions undoing machine screws is much
easier than drilling out a rivet. The screws yielded a very secure
installation.
