The
first generation C1 Corvette introduced America to the modern sports
car era. When speaking about classic cars the C1 stands alone in terms
of styling and nostalgia. The C1 wowed America and the world with its
sweeping aerodynamic body contours and its innovative mechanical
engineering. Demand and subsequently prices for outstanding examples of
the C1 have been rising steadily over the past several years.

We recently had the pleasure of helping a fellow Corvette collector
sell one of the finest examples of of this generation Corvette that we
have ever come across. The car in questions was a showroom condition
1956. The total frame off restoration yielded an absolutely
perfect 100 point car.
The
car was a numbers matching 265ci engine, 3 speed manual and was
equipped with 3:70 Gears. It was adorned in perfect Venetian Red with
Shoreline Beige Coves, and a perfect with red interior. Factory

The
C1 was built June 27,1956 in St. Louis, MO. It is one of 3467 Corvettes
built that year, and only one of 431 cars that were built in Venetian
Red with a Shoreline Beige Cove.This car has 40,000 original miles and
had a frame-off restoration in 2005 and has only been driven 1200 miles
in 16 years.All original no-hit fiberglass body has been painted with
PPG urethane paint over fresh gel coat. The body of this car is
phenomenal, nice gaps, beautiful brightwork, along with its GTechniq
Ceramic Coating. The frame is completely rust free.
Restoration
involved a new interior which included new seats, a new white top,
Daytona carpeting, along with matching floor mats. A smaller, 17”
matching Steering Wheel has been installed to make entering and exiting
easier. A New fuel system included a refurbished carburetor, fuel
pump, stainless lines, fuel tank, sending unit and straps. On the
electrical side the car was equipped with a new wiring harness
throughout, along with refurbished original gauges and updated quartz
movement for the clock.
A
set of new Coker wide whitewall radial tires, and a complete new brake
system including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and brake lines were
